But Is It Art?

Um, Australia…. A word if I may.
I’m having a lovely time here and I’m happy to overlook your attempt at footwear, beer and cheese, but can we have a chat about the art? Specifically at the museum of contemporary art.
Case in point:

Apparently this is Tango, an invitation to dance which plays on the relationship between positive and negative forms and is a tip of the beret to Matisse.
Or, as The Husband puts it, is a spilled packet of cheese Doritos.
How about you return to making giant fibreglass versions of ordinary objects, like the Big Cheese in Bodalla we laughed at, or the Big Goldpanner in Bathurst we almost missed? Play to your strengths, that’s all I’m saying. Thanks.

We have had the Yellow Peril lurking about in Melbourne for years and years – I have recently learned that it’s official name is ‘Vault’…whilst we are never to old to learn something new, I still think it is crap.
